Do insulin syringes and needles require a prescription?
This one's a real puzzler. The answer is that they do and they
don't. In California, for example, most pharmacists require only the diabetic's signature, but not the doctor's. Some, however,
insist on a doctor's prescription. The laws vary from state
to state and the interpretation of the laws varies from pharmacy
to pharmacy.
We've never tried purchasing this equipment out of state or overseas but June always carries a doctor's prescription in case the occasion should ever arise.
